About the role:

We are currently seeking a seasoned Network Engineering Manager to join our Network Operations Center. This individual should be technical and possess strong troubleshooting, analytical skills, and positive personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you'll be doing:

• Develops a disciplined, detailed, and structured team to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
• Work with staff to ensure that their individual and overall team metrics and goals are being met.
• Establishes positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
• Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which is essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects
• Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
• Oversees the daily activities of Network Services and performs direct supervision of team members, including performance reviews, career development
• Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
• Work with the Engineering, Operation and Leadership teams to define and document resolutions for repeat occurrences as well as best troubleshooting practices.

The idea candidate will be able to help fill in technical gaps but also realize when and where to lead the team from a management perspective to ensure that daily tasks stay on track and are not missed. They should also be comfortable in leading conversations with team members, peers, and members of lateral teams.

A successful candidate will have the drive to continually push the workload forward towards resolution no matter the day-to-day issues that may arise within the department. They will also be someone that can multi-task and possesses outstanding project management, planning and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of operations management experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Telecommunications Industry experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with OSPF, BGP
• Networking/IT Certifications is a plus
• Hands on experience with WAN Networking (such as Cisco, Mikrotik, Juniper, etc.)
• Strong foundation and knowledge of LAN/WAN Networking, OSI, TCP/IP and VLAN theory
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
