Network Engineer - 100% Remote Eligible

In this role you will Install, configure and monitor components on our local area network (LAN) & wide area networks (WAN). This position will also include a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN/WAN performance meets company and user requirements. This position is part of the team that is the highest level of escalation for networking engineering in the company.

Our network consists of a core network (data centers) as well a large WAN consisting of MPLS and internet connected campus and branches offices. We also utilize cloud providers such as Azure and AWS. Therefore, this position must be able to demonstrate an expert level of understanding of networking which includes utilizing cloud providers as part of our WAN.

The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$135,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform technology needs analysis and provide recommendations for solutions to complex business problems
• Ability to juggle multiple projects
• Identify utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Manage, update, and test disaster recovery protocols
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
• Routing and switching
• LAN and WAN architectures
• IP networking and management
• Cisco hardware platforms such as Catalyst, Nexus, ASR’s, etc.
• Firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point)
• Load balancing on the F5 platform including SSL termination
• DDoS environments both on-prem and cloud based
• WAF functionality
• Familiarity with security-based architectures
• DWDM environments
• Structured cabling concepts
• Cloud networking experience (Azure, AWS)
• Experience with application migration to and from WAN environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities to other network engineers.
• Ability to communicate effectively within all levels within the organization

Skills

Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.

Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud concepts and technologies; ability to design, develop, support and manage cloud computing products.

Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.

Network Engineering: Knowledge of the processes, tools and technologies for network engineering; ability to utilize and manage these for planning, designing, construction and support of wireline and wireless networks.

Systems Software Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.
