Position Overview

In this role, you will join a project team responsible for managing all project stages and phases for the implementation of a new transportation management system and its contiguous technologies. Working within the transportation projects team, you will ensure all project work streams are properly planned and executed, from initial scoping to final initiation and controls. It will be your priority to collaborate with internal and external partners to seamlessly achieve successful completion of every assigned project. In this role, you will work with business and technical stakeholders to create a project plan, organizing all individuals involved, create/facilitate and develop a task/action list to hold all parties accountable and measure success. You will also manage the relationship with the stakeholders to ensure they are 100% satisfied with the project and attain return on investment. As part of your role, you will utilize, develop and evolve Project Management Methodology Plans for each project. Additionally, you will regularly keep up to date on transportation systems and technologies so that you can effectively meet company needs and train employees and partners on the usage of the implemented systems.

Job Description

You will contribute by:
Develop schedules for project initiation, planning, control, and closeout

Determine objectives and measures upon which project success is evaluated

Monitor and report on the status of efforts, anticipating and identifying risks that inhibit the attainment of project goals

Facilitate risk management reviews

Conduct review meetings at the end of each project milestone and phase

Effectively and consistently communicate work progress internally and, as applicable, externally throughout each project

Travel Required: Yes - Travel to distribution centers, warehouses, and dispatch centers to conduct requirements gathering, coaching, and training activities. Travel requirements, length and locations depend on the project. Candidate should expect to travel a minimum of 50% of their time.

Office: Office Temperature (65F to 75F)

Location: Qualified candidate can work from one of our warehouse locations in California, Oregon, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Houston, TX or Keene, NH

Skills

Special Skills: Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills.

Other: Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while identifying priorities, communicating progress and ensuring deadlines are met.

Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.

Years Of Experience

2-5: Business environment is preferred, specific transportation or IT related experience is a plus, project management a plus.
