About Us

Heme Onc Call is the country’s first telemedicine hematology practice. We focus on Women’s Health Hematology (iron deficiency from pregnancy, heavy menstrual bleeding and gastric bypass) and our mission is to give iron intravenously to every woman that needs it.

We have an established iron infusion center in Dade and Broward County completing over 50 iron infusions per week. We are expanding to St. Petersburg, FL and looking for an Oncology-certified infusion nurse to work alongside a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a small infusion center on Saturdays only.

Summary of the position

The Medical Scribe’s primary job function is to prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for providers. Updating medical history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with providers and performing clerical tasks
  • Operating the electronic health records and taking notes during the visit
  • Send laboratory orders to patients via email after the visit
  • Send telephone encounters via ECW after the visit
  • Anticipating the needs of the provider to ensure efficiency in a clinical setting
  • Flexible work schedule and hours based on provider availability (including some weekends)
  • Working knowledge of Computer technology/Wifi connectivity
  • Must have stable internet connection at all times
  • Must have a working computer at all times
  • Must be punctual
  • Communicating with patients and providers professionally
  • Administrative duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • No formal education or experience necessary

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as physician orders and medical charts
  • Ability to write routine messages and correspondence.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Attends annual OSHA and HIPAA training (when applicable)
  • Responsible for complying with all federal, state and local rules and regulations.
  • Reports any observation of fraud, waste, abuse, and/or privacy violations to COO.
  • Reports any conflict of interest or relationship immediately.HIPAA:
  • Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality.
  • Complies with all hospital information security practices.
  • Has knowledge of and adheres to all compliance regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients and staff are required to wear masks. Series of questions are asked when making appointments to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
