Incentives:


Successful Candidates may be eligible for a $10,000 lump sum payment upon signing, subject to a two (2) year Return of Service agreement with the Laboratory Services Department at Strait Richmond Hospital located in Evanston, NS. Candidates may also be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to $2500 if relocating from within Nova Scotia and up to $5000 if relocating from outside Nova Scotia, for approved expenses with original receipts provided.
Eligibility criteria are determined by Incentive Policy.


About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is responsible to perform a variety of procedures in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical stage of testing with an acceptable degree of competency, accuracy, precision and efficiency.

About You

We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Current registration with the CSMLS and the Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists required
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Laboratory policies and procedures is required
  • Basic working knowledge and proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Meditech/Laboratory Information Systems, Microsoft Word is required
  • Recent laboratory experience in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and specimen procurement required
  • Demonstrated communication, customer services and interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated competence assurance activities within the last two years an asset
  • Workflow, organizational and time management skills required
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required
  • Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively and effectively with others required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on call

Compensation and Incentives

$30.68 - $37.36 hourly
