Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs accurate and timely testing in all sections of the laboratory.

• Accurately identifies patients, samples, charts, computer accounts, super bills, and related paperwork. Resolves identification discrepancies.

• Performs, documents, and interprets Quality Control; takes appropriate corrective actions with failed Quality Control according to procedure.

• Maintains laboratory equipment in good working order; performs, and documents maintenance, takes corrective action when necessary.

• Performs accurate and timely Proficiency Testing.

• Reports complete, legible results to Providers.

• Maintains working inventory of laboratory supplies.

• Keeps work area clean and neat.

• Collects blood samples via venipuncture, finger stick micro technique, syringe and butterfly methodologies.

• Has knowledge of sample handling for all tests, including special procedures such as Drug of Abuse testing and Alcohol testing.

• Supports staffing on all shifts and is able to work extended hours when necessary.

• Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
• Medical Technologist (Preferred)
