Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist-Laboratory

The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic quality routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests according to pre-established guidelines. The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic quality routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests according to pre-established guidelines. Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures and maintains records and statistical data according to regulatory requirements.

Education: Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Bachelor's degree in medical technology or laboratory science or alternative qualification through a CLIA recognized experience and examination program.

Experience: One (1) year of Medical Laboratory experience is preferred; One (1) year of Medical Laboratory experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP), or CLT (NCA) or equivalent is required. BLS certification is preferred. Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), HEW or CLT(NCA) is required.
