Position Summary:

Ensure the provision of high-quality, integrated care and treatment to patients with substance use disorder and common co-morbid conditions with compassion and critical thinking in accordance with CleanSlate Clinical Guidelines, current evidence-based methods, and principles of harm reduction

The Center Clinical Director oversees the function of the center in conjunction with Center Manager and in consultation with designated supervising physician.

Oversight and Reporting Structure:

• The CCDs direct patient care and clinical oversight responsibilities will be performed in consultation with and under the supervision of designated supervising physician in concordance with applicable state regulations and payer requirements.
• The Center Clinical Director (CCD) reports to the senior medical/clinical leadership person as determined by the Regional Medical Director overseeing the center. The administrative supervisor to the CCD may or may not also be the CCDs designated supervising physician.

Performance Responsibilities:

• CCD will work with the Center Manager as a DYAD. In partnership the dyad will ensure adherence to CleanSlate guidelines and processes and will manage the centers clinical and operational performance in meeting company goals on identified metrics.
• CCD will work closely with Center Manager, supervising physician, medical providers, and behavioral health providers to ensure the delivery of integrated, comprehensive, and high-quality services and care to CleanSlate patients.
• CCD will spend 85% of work hours devoted to direct patient care and 15% to administrative work and oversight.

Administrative and Oversight Responsibilities 15%

• Provide on-site clinical and operational guidance and mentorship to clinical team including part time physicians, consulting with supervising physician as needed
• Lead a regularly scheduled interdisciplinary treatment meeting (IDT) to review high-complexity patients for the purpose of decision making and education
• Engage with Center Manager on shared dyadic responsibilities such as quality and performance metrics impacting the center, including patient retention percentages, patient visits, productivity, attrition patterns, and other operational data which reflects accordance with our treatment model.
• Clinical consultation for complex patient decision making e.g. regarding medically compromised or complicated patient care, determining if a patient requires a different level of care for MAT, assisting in the discharge determination process.
• Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the supervising physician to discuss and manage difficult clinical situations and ongoing mentorship
• Maintain all standards for licensing, certifications, credentialing and applicable accreditations
• Assist and oversee individual provider project initiatives (community, education, literature review), with feedback to dyadic partner and provider team
• Participate in referral development events either through self-initiation, or in conjunction with the dyadic partner (center manager)
• Review scheduling, time-off, and blocking requests in conjunction with the Center manager
• Any and all other reasonable tasks or projects, as assigned, with the agreement of the CCD

Direct Patient Care 85%

• Provide medication assisted treatment including initial evaluations, induction on Buprenorphine and follow up care to patients within the center including timely completion of all prescriptions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Two or more years' addiction treatment experience that includes medication assisted treatment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in organization and prioritization
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, center staff and community partners
• Professionalism in all communications internally and externally
• Demonstrated commitment and compassion to patients with substance use disorder(s)
• Computer fluency
• Ability to react calmly, objectively and effectively in emergency situations.
• Strong communication skills verbally, written, and presentation

Qualifications:

Required:

• Advance Practice Provider Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or the National Academy of Nurse Practitioners
• Current and active license to practice in state of center with NPI
• DEA in state of practice and applicable state Controlled Substances Registration certificate

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• Dependent body mobility to access a standard office environment with shelves and drawers of varying heights
• Vision sufficient to read a computer screen, printed text, and hand-written documents.
• Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis.
• Stamina to sit and/or stand up for hours at a time
• Ability to transport, lift or carry essential work-related materials or items up to 40 pounds
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone, and in various forms of written communication
• Mental stamina for problem solving
• Ability to document, recall, and explain detailed trainings, conversation, or events, and apply oral/written instructions, as needed
