Responsibilities

  • Reviewing medical records: You will review medical records to accurately code diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Submitting claims: You will be responsible for submitting claims to insurance companies and government payers, ensuring that all necessary information and documentation is included.
  • Following up on claims: You will follow up on submitted claims to ensure that they are processed in a timely manner and that payment is received.
  • Verifying insurance coverage: You will work with insurance companies and patients to verify insurance coverage and obtain any necessary authorizations for medical services.
  • Resolving billing issues: You will respond to patient inquiries and work with insurance companies to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintaining records: You will maintain accurate records of all coding and billing activities, as well as patient billing and payment histories.

Ultimately, as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, your main duty will be to make sure that medical claims are submitted accurately and on time, and that patients get paid for the services they receive. To make sure that all billing and coding procedures adhere to all relevant rules and regulations, you will work closely with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare providers.

Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of medical terminologies
  • 18 years old and above
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
