An International World Leader in steel making south of Indianapolis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support production and manufacturing. The right candidate will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting machines, overseeing installations. This is a hands-on position where half of the work is in the production environment. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH METALLURGY AND/OR HEAT TREATMENT.

Here is what you will do:

· Coordinate activities involved with fabrication, installations and repair of various electromechanical systems as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Work with mechanical presses, PLCs, robotics

· Design and oversee fabrication

· Evaluate installations and recommend modifications

· Specify vendors

· Schedule work assignments

And here is what you will need:

· BS in Engineering is a MUST. Master’s preferred

· At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience

· Knowledge of heat treatment, metallurgy, process analysis and SPC

· Experience with high-frequency welding a big plus

· Ability to read, write and verbally present reports

· This position will not support visa sponsorship

· This position WILL support relocation costs

This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
