Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineering at our campus in Westford, Massachusetts. The mechanical engineer will support the manufacturing and manufacture of complex multi-function modules used in challenging high reliability applications. The engineer will be responsible for design, analysis and layout of advanced electro-mechanical subsystems. The engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to our manufacturing operation to resolve assembly and test issues.
The engineer will learn from and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to include hardware engineers, systems engineers, and circuit design engineers as well as technicians and manufacturing support personnel.

The Locale: Westford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Westford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Westford is within reach of New Hampshire's White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Where can you get to from Westford? Westford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Westford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Westford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications for this role is a BS or MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
• A keen interest in the field of Mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering and technologies is essential.
• Familiarity with Mechanical 3D CAD tools
• Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organization skills are required.
• Candidate must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance and obtain at least an interim secret security clearance before starting the position.

The candidate must be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:

• Related Mechanical undergrad internship experience is desired.
• Demonstrated academic achievement in related engineering field is desired.
• Experience with PTC CREO, Windchill PDM and Ansys FEA simulation tools is desired.
• Experience with design and manufacture of electronics systems for severe environments.
• Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting technical documentation such as specifications, mechanical components and test data is desired.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
