Itron's West Union, SC site which is closely located to the beautiful and academically acclaimed Clemson University campus, as well as our Raleigh , NC site, is seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer who is seeking a challenging role with purpose. This important role serves as a central resource for design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality with responsibility in investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities. One of the key responsibilities and impact this individual will have is to ensure the products shipped meet the specifications and quality goals of the customer and Itron standards.
You will design, modify and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle, from product release through maintenance of the product and end of life choices. Promote investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities. Ensure that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Improve and adapt existing natural gas meter products
- Develop new natural gas meter products
- Utilize strong mechanical aptitude to acclimate effectively to new products and processes.
- Identify and resolve issues in a professional setting
- Contribute to cross-functional product development teams
- Research new technologies
Experience:
Required experience:
- 3D modeling experience
Preferred experience:
- Experience with Pro/E (Creo)
- Experience with Minitab
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) preferred
Travel: 1 - 10%
