Hourly Pay Rate: $29.68/hr.
SUMMARY
The primary objective of this position is to monitor, coordinate and maintain raw material inventories within the Denver Roofing facility while maintaining controls over raw material inventories. This position will help the Denver Roofing Plant deliver a Conversion Efficiency (CE) of at least 97%. This position will help achieve 90% schedule attainment and reduce downtime due to material shortage by 20%.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records to avoid unnecessary detention/demurrage charges.- Maintains raw material inventory integrity through accurate and timely record keeping, daily physical inventory counts, cycle counts and reconciliations. This process is critical to ensure accurate and reliable inventory balances.
- Manage physical inventory on site including FIFO inventory procedures, incoming rail shipments, and optimizing raw material storage in warehouse and shipping yard.
- Provide input and assist in maintaining accurate min/max inventory levels for all raw materials.
- Ensures plant has appropriate levels of raw material to run to schedule-if shortage occurs, communicates with parties to resolve issues, and minimize downtime, etc.
- Works collaboratively with Planning team on any raw materials shortages for the week.
- Provide input and assist in maintaining accurate min/max inventory levels on raw materials.
- Serve as a liaison to Controller around inventory control status and issues affecting the plant and plant costs
- Ensure record retention procedure is implemented and in compliance.
- Attends Daily Management System (DMS) each day and updates plant personnel on any inventory issues which could affect schedule. Checks schedule for changes and escalates issues along the way.
- Monitors and maintains “block stock” inventory
- Works with suppliers to return defective product
- Work collaboratively with Corp Transportation Dept to ensure a cost-effective operation meeting carrier and customer needs.
- Monitors, reports and initiates disposition of Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory (SMOI)
- Maintains accurate CE, understands and explains variances
- Ensures Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs are working effectively
- Identifies waste streams and leads projects to increase Conversion Efficiency (CE)%.
- Creates trackers for raw materials consumption rates.
- Develop and engage warehouse staff to improve current processes and create productivity opportunities. Works with other plant teams to implement improvements.
- Order and release railroad cars for raw materials
- Inventory of granules and confirmation of what is on rail track
- Rail car management and paperwork
- Ensuring that COGI’s are routinely managed
- Ensure controls compliance around raw material and finished goods inventories
- Resolve inventory related issues in SAP in a timely manner
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on-the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant.
- Fix unsafe conditions and report them immediately to supervisor.

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument- Experience with SAP or comparable ERP system
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with logistics, customer service or purchasing- Associates Degree or applicable experience
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
Lift and push and pull 40lbs repetitively- Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for 8 hours
- Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely
- Exposure to temperature extremes
- Exposure to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Bending and twisting
- Able to climb on and off of forklift
- Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control
- Able to work with railroad and other transportation outlets
