Job Description Summary
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
The 'Material Handler - Shipping/Warehouse' position's main responsibility is to effectively control the tracking, storage and issuance of materials within the warehouse and shipping areas. This job will include the loading & unloading of inbound/outbound freight, small parcel receipt & delivery, materials distribution from dock to warehouse, and other shipping/warehouse functions as needed. This position may be asked to provide production line support, as needed. This position will serve as a back-up for all Shipping/Warehouse responsibilities as needed.
Safety Expectations:
- Responsible for performing all job requirements in a safe manner and being a proactive safety role model with co-workers (including safety procedures required for docking and loading freight).
- Responsible for correcting/reporting unsafe behaviors or equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Responsible for cleanliness within the facility, including safe handling and disposal of waste and recyclable materials.
- Responsible for attending all monthly safety training meetings.
- Encouraged to engage in extracurricular safety programs (ie: 1st responders, safety meeting presenters, safety committee, audits).
Responsibilities:
Obtain and maintain in good standing a Tru Vue Forklift Operation License.
Proficient use of SAP, and other computer systems, to properly account for all material transactions.
Function as material handler for the shipping/warehouse areas. Including, but not limited to:
- Loading outbound trailers.
- Unloading inbound trailers.
- Receipt & delivery of small parcel.
- Delivery of inbound materials to warehouse or production locations.
- Coordination of freight requests with internal & external customers and Logistics broker.
- SAP, and other computer applications, to track, manage, and coordinate materials.
- Quality responsibilities related to inbound materials.
- 6S and housekeeping of shipping /warehouse.
- Continuous Improvement projects to improve safety, quality, & productivity of job functions.
Other duties as assigned
Must work with the other Tru Vue staff to ensure consistent companywide materials programs are implemented and adhered to.
- Monitor and maintain FIFO.
- Understand and use daily and monthly schedules, including production time, Preventive Maintenance, product development, and other needs to assure efficient line set-up and operation, including material availability and placement.
- Audit and monitor finished goods for proper packaging, tagging, and necessary information.
- Ensure proper inventory of production materials and finished goods to support scheduled orders in a Pull Manufacturing environment.
- Monitor and assist in packaging materials for shipment in the most effective manner.
- Utilize SAP and established paperwork and practices to assure effective, accurate, timely reporting of product and location and tracking of materials.
- Support routine cycle counts and other inventory functions.
- Inventory packaging materials.
- Share and assist in generation and implementation of yield, process, and safety improvement ideas within Tru Vue, Inc.
- Utilize and develop visual tools.
- Create, learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.
- Have high sensitivity to quality and on-time delivery of products and services.
- Cross train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities.
- Initiate and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes to improve yield and customer satisfaction, lower costs, and reduce the number of corrective actions.
- Document and monitor procedures and processes to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge.
- Initiate and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes. Generate and document solutions and continuous improvement ideas in established manner.
- Interact and function effectively in a high performance team environment. Foster a "How can I help you?" environment. Participate in department meetings and communicate across shifts to assure effective material handling function.
- Assist in development of work instructions, training and certifying team members and assisting in special projects.
- All other duties as necessary to the success of Tru Vue, Inc.

Shift/Work Hours:
This position requires a unique schedule with the core hours being:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Overtime may be required, as needed, to fulfill customer demand.
Education and Experience: (minimum requirements)
One year of forklift experience. Must have a good driving record.
Computer system experience, ability to learn and perform transactions accurately required.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Quality systems preferred.
Attributes:
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain in good standing a Tru Vue Forklift Operation License.
Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.
Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and perform all production jobs.
Must be able and willing to accurately complete electronic transactions and paperwork related to inventory and production. Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows based environment. Previous bar-coding experience preferred.
Must be flexible, conscientious, quality-minded and detail oriented. High sensitivity to quality and on time delivery of materials.
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and plan ahead to meet production needs and minimize downtime.
Ability and willingness to work effectively and cross train in a team environment.
Sensitive to other cultures/backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplace.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
