Reports to: Store Development Manager
Travel: Minimal (typically markets only)
Description:
The Market Research Supervisor will create and manage the execution of market research projects, generate customer and market insights and tie these insights to actionable business recommendations. This position will collaborate with the Research Project Specialist, sales field staff, and our members on voice of customer (VOC) surveys and market potential. An analytically driven team player, with excellent attention to detail, will help drive success within this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Geographical Information System (GIS) software program to complete market research and analysis needed for opening new hardware, lumber, and home center stores.
  • Identify potential new markets that show growth potential and collaborate with the sales team to present opportunities to strategic members.
  • Develop and execute customer research to obtain customer insights, awareness and satisfaction and engagement levels for member locations
  • Gather findings, analyze and interpret data, prepare findings, and make actionable recommendations
  • Develop and deliver communications about customer insights and outcomes to a variety of stakeholders
  • Recommend and develop growth opportunities for the Consumer Insights and Market Research team
  • Evaluate technology enhancements and implementation plans to increase overall research efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage relationships with GIS and VOC vendors
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or a related field of study.
  • Experience with market analysis research
  • Experience with market analysis research in retail (desired)
  • Experience with VOC methodologies and platforms (desired)
  • Experience in the home improvement industry (desired)
  • Experience with team member development and leadership
Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in the use of at least one of the following GIS software programs: ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or MapInfo
  • Prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior research and analytical skills
  • Interpret data then report and communicate complex concepts and methodologies into easily understood language
