This position is open to applicants or individuals who are located in or willing to move to AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MD, NV, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT.
The Role:
The maintenance technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and fabrication of equipment for the Distribution Center. 5-10 years maintenance experience in a highly automated distribution center is preferred. This position will schedule preventative maintenance, work with vendor base on parts procurement and provide on-floor leadership to the maintenance team.
What You’ll Do:
- Understand and repair material handling equipment including automated retrieval equipment, unit sorter and conveyor.
- Provide superior customer service to the operations team including communication of issues, preventive maintenance, reduced downtime and creative solutions.
- Work with key vendors on technical concepts, trouble shooting and creative solutions to downtime related issues.
- Key leader of maintenance team. Able to schedule, mentor and assist in all components of facility automation.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical wiring schematics, and layout drawings. Must be able to interpret, communicate and work with vendors on conceptual issues.
- Working co-operatively with other maintenance mechanics, maintenance manager, and director of engineering, operations mangers and team members to keep equipment running to support a 24/7 operation.
- Maintain and improve maintenance workshop area, parts inventory, PM system and general facility maintenance.
- Order supplies and parts as needed under direction of Management.
- Understand and maintain safety program and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
Who You Are:

What You’ve Done:
- High school graduate.
- 5-10 years experience in the maintenance of industrial equipment: including mechanical equipment, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, circuits and controls with the ability operate power tools and maintenance equipment
- Machine and process troubleshooting experience
- Experience with automated material handling equipment
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Experienced and/or certified in industrial electrical repair and installation of control circuits, E-stops controls, minor electrical installation of 24v and 120v wiring and controls
Nice to Haves:
- Long term experience in a highly automated warehouse environment
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
- Able to lift and carry up to 25-30 labs on occasion (document boxes, files, binders, and other items
- Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Infrequent/Occasional exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment
