Job description
Position Summary
The position will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Responsibilities
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Assists with routine install and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, roofing, and masonry.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors, hanging items on walls, building and repairing furniture and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to operate a forklift, use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Welding and Mechanics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to utilize smart phone and computer with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid Universal EPA Certification
- Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, climbing, pushing or pulling.
- May be subjected to varying levels of noise, air quality, lighting and exposure the elements.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Must be physically able to climb, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
