Job description
Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts and tooling according to wear identified by machinery, equipment or facilities
  • Estimates work hour requirements for completion of a job
  • Maintains maintenance management software to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are met, spare part inventory is accurate, and all repairs are documented within the system
  • Reviews and approves contractor proposals and invoices
  • Prioritize tasks for the maintenance team on a daily basis
  • Manage on call schedules
  • Communicates with outside contractors as needed
  • Coordinates contractor work and conducts contractor training
  • Trains maintenance department staff
  • Reports on and is responsible for machine downtime
  • Manage KPIs and provide monthly countermeasures
  • Ensure cost save and maintain a monthly budget
  • Complete tasks from safety observation cards in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform all duties of workers supervised

Responsibilities
  • Work safely, respecting the environmental health safety guidelines (cardinal rules)
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment
  • Identify parts for replacement in machinery and equipment based on equipment manual and/or parts identification information
  • Perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, etc. assembly or manufacture structures (metal, wood etc.) as required for production equipment, machinery and building facilities
  • Make modifications and improvements to production and building equipment
  • Perform work at heights at or above four feet
  • Coordinate the inspection, preventative, maintenance, and record keeping of equipment subject to permits and regulations
  • Work with engineering/management to implement process improvements
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner
  • Capable of completing a wide variety of tasks towards maintaining the building
  • Effectively communicate and relay information to management and operators
  • Stand up and sit down fork lift certification required
  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Desired experience in urethane or plastic processing
  • Experience of 5 years or more in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
  • Experience of 10 years or more in a technician role preferred
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of electromechanical systems
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of pneumatic systems
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of mechanical systems
  • Experience in the use of hand tools
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting aptitude
  • Willingness and motivation to learn and understand the operation of task specific equipment
  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
