POSITION SUMMARY

Completion of rebuilds on specialized equipment for the Amsted Rail / Brenco complex. Analyze specifications set up and operate all types of machining equipment, fit and assemble parts to make and repair equipment, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files.
• Display working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Set up, operate and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
• Build fixtures for machining parts.
• Perform in place machining, surfacing or boring of equipment.
• Operate lathe, mills, grinding machines and drill presses to include: turning, milling, boring, thread cutting, thread chasing, grinding and broaching to high tolerances.
• Check, calibrate and use I.D. and O.D. micrometers, veneer calipers, dial calipers, depth mics, telescopic gauges, adjustable parallels, indicators and dial bore gauges.

QUALIFICATIONS

4 years’ experience in related field with proven industry experience, including:

• Welding and torch usage
• Rigging and hoisting
• Rebuilding pumps and gearboxes as well as hydraulic cylinders and pressure testing
• Performing proper alignments of gears, pulleys, shafts etc.
