Job Title : Machinist - Level 2

Location : Phoenix AZ USA 85034

Duration : 3 months

Shift Hours : 1st shift

Description-

Machinist apprentice position provides support the manufacturing facility by loading and unloading parts/materials at the workstations. Daily maintenance on machines (checking fluid levels, filling fluids levels, cleaning out chips, etc.). Also provide support to the setup personnel by pre-kitting tools/fixtures that are needed for the next job. Support the visual management activities of the Operational Excellence deployment.

Machine - maintenance

• Daily check of the fluids of the machines
• Follow the standard form – fills the daily report
• Reports any and all discrepancies on the floor to the supervisor (ex: leaks, tripping hazards, etc.)
• Communicates any job related issues / questions (parts, fixtures, program, inspection, etc.) to lead person for resolution / clarification
• Prepare the kitting of parts for the next job
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace or specific projects

Operational excellence/Setup support

• Preparation of the kitting of parts/fixtures/tooling/gaging to include removal of such items from the area after operation
• Company specific handling & FOD requirements
• Support training activities
• Assist and prepare document within Microsoft Office
• Support in layout organization to include moving equipment, shelving, and taping

Responsibilities:

• Fill up the daily coolant sheet or specific projects
• Prepare the carts – kits – needed for the setup (Lathe, mills, grinding operations)
• Weekly report out of the setup kits
• Daily Visual management deployment-

o Tape lines, label/signs making for racks, operations etc.
o Install visual signs/labels
o Setup workstations
o Clean work stations
o Prepare documents for the visual management boards

• Machinist apprentice will support data entry to the programming/OPEx team (setup sheets or productivity data, etc.)
• After completion of job, will remove the existing kits/materials/tooling fixtures/gages to the proper locations (Tool crib, internal racks, quality)
• Marks and identifies tools and fixtures according to shop standards
• Assist in operations in shop visual management activities under supervisor direction

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic requirements

o data analysis

o Use of Microsoft Office
o Ability to understand machinist preparation process

• Understand basic information in drawings or tool description

• Able to communicate any issues

• Ability to lift 25 pounds

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
