Job description
Machine Shop Technician
We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MIG and flux core welding, plasma cutting, material estimation, steel fabrication, rough carpentry, steel machining, finishing, steel assembly, and concrete fastening and anchoring.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and flux core welding on a variety of steel projects
- Operate plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut materials
- Estimate the amount of material required for each project
- Fabricate and assemble steel components based on project specifications
- Use carpentry skills to create support structures for various projects
- Operate steel machining equipment to produce finished parts
- Apply finishing techniques to completed projects
- Assemble steel components to create larger structures
- Fasten and anchor steel components to concrete surfaces
Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 months of experience in MIG and flux core welding and plasma cutting
- Ability to estimate materials and create detailed project plans
- Familiarity with steel machining equipment and processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to assemble steel components to create larger structures
- Experience fastening and anchoring steel components to concrete surfaces
