Machine Operator

Paterson Paper, a leading manufacturer of quality restaurant paper products, is looking to add to our Manufacturing Team! Our Machine Operators are key to our production operations and you’ll make a major contribution by making the products shipped to our growing list of customers. How you’ll fit in:

Meeting our production metrics is vital to our business! While on the job, you’ll l be asked to:

• Efficiently operate the assigned machine in a safe manner, meeting daily established production goals
• Efficiently perform machine make-readies
• Accurately report daily production of machine
• Read and interpret a manufacturing order to ensure finished product meets specifications
• Effectively troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments as needed
• Work overtime as necessary to cover other shift operators and meet overall production demand
• Ensure correct products (raw materials, sizes, ink colors, quantities, etc.) are being manufactured
• Document and quality check output of machines to ensure consistency and quality
• Wear appropriate PPE and conduct work with a safety-focused mindset, follow all company safety policies
• Report any unsafe acts or conditions to the supervisor or lead person
• Maintain 5S standards
• Work and communicate well as part of a team

What we’re looking for:

To do this job effectively, you’ll need to:

• Work safely – previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred
• Be punctual – attendance is paramount to meeting our output goals
• Be experienced – knowledge of industrial equipment operation is strongly preferred; previous experience with paper converting or printing is an added plus!
• Lift up to 25 lbs. consistently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Basic math skills are required for this position; High school diploma or GED is preferred
• Have strong English or Spanish communication skills; Bilingual is a plus!

• Salary Range: $18.50-$20.35 per hour starting wage based on selected shift's differential pay. $19.10-$21.01 once fully trained (6-12 months) based on selected shift's differential pay.
