Essex Westford School District is seeking a long-term substitute Music Teacher at Summit Street School. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest, appreciation, and love of elementary school students; a thorough understanding of elementary-level best practices; strong content knowledge; and a commitment to collaboration in a professional learning community focused on supporting all students.This position is expected to begin May 22nd and go through the remainder of the 22/23 school year, with the possibility of continuing Aug 2023 through January 2024.EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state. Candidates with experience working in another country, the ability to fluently speak more than one language, Peace Corps experience, and/or otherworldly experience are encouraged to apply to help contribute to a diversity of thinking and grow our organizational practices.Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• Valid Educator license, or ability to hold a VT educator license, with elementary-level music endorsement.
• The ability and enthusiasm to effectively engage and inspire students.
• Excellent teaching, organization, planning, written and oral communication, creative and collaborative skills. Ability to be a contributing member of an established interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to effectively integrate social and emotional learning in the classroom to help all students succeed.
• Experience in Music and/or dance
