How can you be successful in this role?

  • Collaborate with customers daily to address issues and ensure overall success
  • Work with Coordinator Team and drivers with safety as the focus. Address safety issues with drivers in a timely manner and respond with appropriate actions which may include warnings, probation, and possible termination.
  • Be proficient in our systems and be able to adjust previously dispatched loads based on finalized customer load plan.
  • Communicate timely and effectively both through PS Tablet and over the phone with drivers.
  • Communicate with drivers and Local customers to meet expectations and on time service requirements.
  • Build strong relationships between Coordinators, drivers and management. Provide feedback both positive and constructive to drivers.
  • Work effectively with safety and maintenance teams to address issues and concerns regarding drivers and equipment.
  • Coach drivers on performance issues to include poor trip planning, service exceptions, company policy violations, and communicating effectively.
  • Provide feedback to operations manager regarding driver issues/concerns that are not improving or may need further intervention with either operations or safety.
  • Monitor drivers Hours of Service to ensure they are running within FMCSA regs.
  • Solicit drivers from other departments when necessary to cover schedules

Daily expectations:

Some duties include and not limited to

GB Local Payroll and timecards.

Preparing Billing for all local accounts for PTI to bill weekly.

Supervising the day to day Local operation, Addressing all issues both with Customer and staff

Working with PTI HR, Payroll, Safety, and other operations teams.

Keeping good documentation

DM for All Mon-Fri GB Local drivers day time (Including Belson, GB Pack, Eco, Sofidel)

Interview and set up training and credentials for new driver hires in local fleet

GB Local schedule and filling open shifts

Back up Coordinator on Duty at GP

Work Direct with customers.

Attend Customer meetings.

Monitoring GP Topside and Ledger Channels. Assist with Shuttle.

Point of Contact for GP/KBX needs

Schedule and dispatch the 3 flex drivers weekly and part time drivers along with CJ (Belson Thurs, Fri)

Assist GP Sheboygan or possible other fleets at times with Total Mail, some phone, Back up dispatch (DM) and Using TMW

Must also use GP SAP system

  • Leadership or Supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft products – Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Ability to navigate through multiple computer systems
  • Ability to adapt easily to change
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship building and written & verbal communication skills
  • Transportation background of at least 1 year
