Overview:

Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks accomplished Sample Management System Support Engineer.

*** Duration: 4 – 5 months contract w/ possibility of extensions

Description:

• The Sample Management Support (SMS) Engineer will play a central role in implementation and support of a biospecimen search engine and an existing vendor-provided enterprise-class Sample Management Software platform.
• Reporting to the Operations and Project Manager, the Sample Management Support Engineer will become one of the main analysts working on the software platforms and will provide tier one support to system end users. This includes capturing and documenting end user needs and communicating those to other team members for prioritization and resolution.
• The incumbent will be responsible for development of end user training materials and leading training sessions.
• The incumbent will also be responsible for system configuration, test case development, and system validation.
• This position will involve collaboration and will work in partnership with other team members, and stakeholders throughout the research enterprise.
• The Sample Management Support Engineer will participate in, and contribute to, team meetings, retrospectives, project planning, and process improvement sessions.
• They will act as the end user champion for managed systems and, with the input of other team members, lead user group meetings.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in related area.

· One or more years of related work experience.

· Within two (2) months of start date, take all appropriate training for work with the MBioLIMS, REDCap, and BioCatalyst systems.

· Skills associated with analysis of processes and issues of moderate scope, information flow and architecture.
