Job Summary
- Assists the Physical Therapist(s) in restoration of patient function by assessing, planning, organizing, alleviating pain, increasing strength, and preventing disabilities by administering medically necessary and/or prescribed rehabilitative services.
General Accountabilities
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Such documentation is required at time of service and should be completed within the date of service during hours of operation. This will include, but is not limited to, implementing treatment protocols established by Physical Therapist(s). Responsible for recording prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's medical record. Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
- Plans, prepares, or carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviating pain, or preventing physical dysfunction in patients.
- Reviews provider referrals and patient medical records.
- Administers therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities or equipment such as traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength, decrease or prevent deformity/crippling. Performs advanced techniques in which you you are an expert within the FL scope of practice for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, outcome measures, respiratory or circulatory efficiency and record data.
- Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
- Confers with the patient, medical practitioners, or other appropriate parties to plan, implement, or assess the intervention program.
- Complies with and retains knowledge of professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality by protecting patient sensitive data and practice operational information.
- Maintains knowledge and good practice of medical regulatory/compliance standards including but not limited to HIPAA and OSHA.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies, procedures, and protocols.
Job Qualifications
- Education : Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Licenses/Certifications : Current FL state License for Physical Therapist Assistant, Degree from a CAPTE-approved program, and its equivalence (foreign-trained welcome).
- Work Experience : Preferred 2 years' experience as an out-patient (ambulatory office) Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Electronic Medical/Health Records: Preferably WebPT
- Physical Skill/Ability: Job will require a healthy state where individual must be able to lift 15 lbs. from floor to waist on a periodic basis.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
