Legal Assistant/Case Manager

Hankey Law Firm LLC, is a small firm located in North Alabama focusing on Family Law.
We are excited as we continue to grow and are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multitask to serve as a legal assistant in our firm. We are a "paperless" firm focused on using technology to every extent possible to better serve our clients.
Requirements:
Above all, the ideal candidate will have an outgoing, friendly and genuinely caring attitude for others as well as a desire to learn and excel in this position. This candidate must have extremely strong attention to detail as well as exceptional organizational skills, ability to learn and embrace technology as needed and be able to multi-task. This person must be able to report to work in a timely, dependent and reliable manner.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in electronic case management, database and filing systems
- Assist attorneys and staff with administrative tasks related to cases and maintaining documents related to litigation
- Ability manager electronic calendar through platforms such as Clio or Calendly
- Electronic filing of court documents
- Communication with clients regarding cases
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Preferred strong knowledge of Alacourt, Alafile and OneDrive System (including the Microsoft Office Programs of Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Clio case management software or other CRM and Mac Operating System is a plus
- Ability to prioritize workload and assignments
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and keep deadlines without extensive guidance
- Applicable knowledge of the legal field including motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, etc. beneficial
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Ability to follow office direction and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Clean and professional dress appearance at all times
Experience and Education:
- High school required (no GED)
- At least two years of prior experience working in a law office that would provide familiarity to the legal system
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27,000.00 - $34,000.00 per year
