Unit Paid Faculty teach additional courses on an as needed basis

The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applications for one, or potentially more, non-tenure track instructional position(s) to teach Introduction to Entrepreneurship (3 credit hours) in its undergraduate program in Fall semester 2023. These are part-time, non-benefited positions.

Applicants must hold a graduate degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D.) in an entrepreneurship -related field, as well as teaching and/or industry experience in entrepreneurship. The applicant will be required to teach at a high level of quality. Candidates are sought to teach the following topics:

  • Be able to provide students with basic tools and vocabulary of new ventures including an overview of how to start, fund, and manage new ventures.
  • Lead students through in-class case discussions, mentored group work, and startup simulations.
  • Cover a broad range of issues faced by founders and funders of both for-profit and non-profit ventures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
