Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Lead Workforce Specialist through 05/23/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (Central time)

Manages the implementation and sustainability of the Managing Safe Work Process (MSW), including the associated corporate required OE standards (e.g. Confined Space Entry). Also, manages and prioritizes work related to the Contractor Health Environment and Safety Management (CHESM) process and the Motor Vehicle Safety (MVS) process.

This position reports to the MCBU Wells HSE Manager and serves as an HSE resource for MCBU Wells Drilling, Completions and Well Intervention organizations as well as Operations Routine Well Work working in the Delaware, Midland and Central Basins in MCBU.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting efforts to prevent incidents with a heavy focus on eliminating significant incidents and fatalities through guiding the implementation and execution of processes and procedures that comply with HSE regulatory requirements and Chevron OE expectations.

  • Identify HSE gaps, develop solutions and implement improvement plans to close them.

  • Coach and engage field personnel and on-site safety personnel to promote and influence safe operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry and with knowledge in HSE.

  • Hands-on experience in identifying HSE gaps and resolving gaps through coaching, creating solutions where they may not exist, and initiating interventions in partnership with various levels of the workforce.

  • Experience responding to requests, advising on HSE concerns, and making required incident notifications.

  • Knowledge of gathering incident information, protecting scenes, and conducting investigations.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect on shared goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited work direction and sound decision-making.

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide feedback & be receptive to feedback received.

  • Demonstrated ability to share best practices. Respectfully challenges the status quo.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and positively contribute to results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Safety Engineering or related field

  • Wells HSE experience or experience operationally in Wells

  • Demonstrated ability in Save Your life Actions, Start work Checks, Competency verifications, and Serious Injury Fatality Prevention.

  • Fluent in OE processes and requirements with a focus on Contractor Safety, Managing Safe Work Standards, Incident investigation, and Emergency Management.

Special Considerations:

  • This is a rotational 14/14 position.

  • The geographical nature of the operational area involves travel by driving.
