Summary: Ensure grounds tasks are completed per contract standards and requirements.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in grounds maintenance and irrigation systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A: Job Specific:
  • Oversee requirements and standards to include:
  • Mow all improved grounds to look well-manicured.
  • Edge sidewalks, driveways, street edges, curbs and other hard surfaced areas located within the improved grounds.
  • Trim areas not accessible to mowers
  • Remove debris to include general litter patrol and natural debris.
  • Police grounds in order t maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Maintain desert landscape in a clean and neat manner.
  • Provide weed control.
  • Irrigate grass, shrubs, and plants.
  • Apply fertilizer as requested.
  • Repair/restore bare or damaged lawn by applying seeding or sod.
  • Prune/trim shrubs and other plants in improved grounds area
  • Ensure vacant lots ae groomed.
  • Communicate with Grounds Supervisor issues or concerns regarding grounds staff.
  • Oversee daily grounds operations in the absence of the Grounds Supervisor.
  • Accept and implement special projects as assigned by supervisor.

B. Company Specific:

  • Adheres to dress code.
  • Completes annual health, safety, and education requirements and demonstrate expected level of competency for each course completed.
  • Reports to work on times scheduled; stay awake and alert during work/training; adheres to policies regarding notification of absence.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner by establishing and maintaining professional relationships that foster growth and development.
  • Complies with all organizational policies and procedures, to include all ethical business practices.
  • Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the company.
  • Maintains current licensure/certification for position, if applicable.
  • Consistently follows departmental and company Health, Safety, Security, Hazardous Materials policies and procedures (OSHA, SDS information, HIPAA, and Workers Compensation),
  • Respect for diversity, (cultural, ethnicity, ideas, etc.) and demonstrate ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Must always carry work phone while on duty; respond to phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner.
  • This position may require the employee to operate either a company owned or personal vehicle on behalf of the company; the company owned vehicle should always remain clean.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a NACI clearance.

Pay Range: $16.20 WDR
