Job Description

Individual applies knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association's Standard for the Installation of Fire Alarm Systems (NFPA 72) requirements for testing and inspecting a commercial fire alarm system in various types of commercial and institutional facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Individual must have a basic to intermediate understanding of electronics and computer software, and hand-held PDA devices.

· Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently without immediate supervision.

· Strong communication skills.

· Travel within the Chicago-Metro area.

· Individual must focus on producing quality work with precision and accuracy.

· Ability to be on feet all day, maneuver in attics, crawl spaces and tight spaces.

· Work on ladders of variable sizes and man lifts. Be able to work at tall heights.

Education and/or Experience

Associates Degree in electronics or 2 years of formal training in electronics or low voltage electrical construction.

Certificate and Licenses

· NICET Level II in Fire Alarm

• Valid Illinois Driver’s License
• Valid Illinois PERC Card required upon being hired.
