Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek is looking for a lead caregiver who will serve as the Assistant to the Wellness Director (DON). This position is responsible for managing caregiver staffing schedule in partnership with Wellness Director and Executive Director to ensure facility is fully staffed to meet the needs of the Residents. He/she is also responsible for delegating duties to the other staff and volunteers as appropriate. Duties can include personal services, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, delegated tasks, medication assistance, meal services and others as needed for Resident care and service delivery. Provides health care related oversight when the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director is absent.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
Scheduling; Accepting call ins. Once a call in is received this position is required to reach out to other staff members to try to cover the open shift. If by chance you are unable to find coverage. It is the responsibility of this position to cover said shift.- Making sure that each shift has the appropriate number of Caregivers.
- Organizing workflow amongst Caregiver and Med Techs.
- Assisting Wellness Director as assigned. Examples of tasks include but are not limited to: filing and chart set up.
- Assisting with medication ordering.
- Weekly checks of resident rooms. Checking the tidiness of the resident’s room and closet. Verifying that all beds have a mattress cover.
- Verifying that all showers and laundry have been completed.
- Making sure weekly assignments sheets are completed for Caregivers.
- Orient new caregiver Team Members to Iris Senior Living, their department and position.
- Be available for On Call rotation as required.
- Participates in all staff development programs to expand and develop abilities.
- Provides oversight to staff when the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director is absent, as assigned.
- Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek is a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community located in the heart of Dallas. Conveniently located near I35 and Dallas North Tollway, we can be found off of Oaklawn and Dickason Avenue.
- Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
- Experience with dementia residents preferred.
- Demonstrates as a team player with a positive attitude; able to work with IRIS Team Members and IRIS ownership/management staff.
- Maintains car in good working order, current driver’s license in good standing, and auto insurance meeting company minimums is current.
