We are currently seeking a creative & driven Landscape Design Assistant to join our Residential Landscape Design Sales Team! Gain valuable knowledge and experience about Residential Landscape Design from concept to completion! Our talented designers & estimators are all graduates of The Ohio State University’s Landscape Architecture Program with years of experience with residential, commercial & municipal projects.

Job Description:
Assist the residential design department in all aspects of the design process, estimation & project construction. Acquire the skills necessary to become a qualified landscape designer or estimator. The position will include a mix of office & field work that will vary based on current projects & time of year.

Design Assistant’s Responsibilities & Duties:
Site Analysis/Survey: Record detailed dimensions & elevations; Inventory existing plant material, utility locations & site amenities; Sketch site conditions & layout; Photograph a comprehensive view of project site.

Drawing Landscape Plans & Details: Draft primarily in AutoCad; Convey design concepts through hand-drawing as well as graphic mediums such as Photoshop & 3d Modeling; Collaborate with designers to adapt and develop cohesive landscape plans for construction

Project Estimation: Complete takeoffs for landscape plans; Quantify work areas & plant material;
Work with subcontractors & suppliers to source costs; Create detailed project proposals.

Administrative Tasks: Send purchase orders & subcontractor requisitions; Order equipment, materials, & supplies; Support designers & estimators with any additional tasks required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Completion of Landscape Architecture/Landscape Design or related program
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite - especially Photoshop, SketchUp or other 3d Modeling software, Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, attention to detail, work well in a team environment to complete projects.
• Effective communication skills - verbal, written & through sketches to share complex ideas with both the design team & clients with ability to problem solve on the fly.
• Graphic design or marketing experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license required.
