Physical Testing Technician

Testing Technicians are responsible for conducting various test methods before fabrics can be shipped to a customer.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with Quality management to perform specification test needs
• Ability to read, comprehend and perform various test methods.
• Document testing results via computer.
• Ability to accurately perform repetitive tasks following procedures in place
• Technicians receive yardage of finished fabrics, which they must cut into samples and perform all customer specified testing, compare testing against approved samples, and document results.
• All other tasks as requested by Quality Lab Management.

Physical Testing Technician shifts are normally 5 days, Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm. Some additional work on Saturdays may be required. Saturday work earns an additional $100.00 bonus on top of regular pay and any overtime earned during the same workweek. Workweeks are Sunday through

Saturday. Pay dates are weekly on Thursdays. McMurray does not hold back one week’s pay.

Employees are eligible for quarterly production bonuses of up to 10% of their pay.

Qualifications:
Excellent eyesight and attention to detail. Must be able to pass a color test annually. This position requires standing throughout the shift. Knowledge of textiles and testing is preferred but training is available. Punctuality, good attendance, basic computer skills, good communication, and teamwork are necessary. Must be able to perform duties under pressure.

Schedule:
1st shift M-F with mandatory OT at times.
Normal schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm M—Friday. Some Saturday shifts have been available in the last year with an additional $100.00 bonus for weekend day.

Supplemental pay types:
Bonus pay
Employees are eligible for quarterly production bonuses of up to 10% of their pay and additional pay for catch-up or weekend call-in work.

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:
Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
