Social Pet Hotel & Daycare is looking to hire a positive, hard-working dog lover as a full-time Pet Care Specialist to work at our Charlotte, NC area facility. This animal care position pays $13-$16/hr, PLUS tips, PLUS a performance-based bonus after your initial onboarding period. All of our employees are eligible for performance-based bonuses every 2 weeks, free daycare for their dogs while on shift, 12 free nights of lodging, and more. Our full-time employees are also eligible for medical benefits, a 401(k), 40 hours per year of paid time off (PTO), and education reimbursement. We are a family-owned pet hotel & daycare which offers the best choices for doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, and training in Charlotte and Pineville, NC. We offer daycare options including group play and one-on-one enrichment activities; a variety of comfortable boarding accommodations with personalized amenities; and spa services ranging from a basic bath, brush, and nail grind to a full pup makeover. We support dog parents by identifying each dog's personality traits, prior experiences, behavior, and level of athleticism so we can create a program that truly benefits each individual dog.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LODGING PET CARE SPECIALIST
As a Lodging Pet Care Specialist, you help feed and water dogs according to feeding schedules and instructions. You wash, clean, organize, and disinfect facilities, yards, and equipment as is necessary to maintain an attractive and healthy environment for everyone. You are one of the reasons that our facility is kept so clean and runs smoothly.

You maintain accurate records of all feeding and medication administration and communicate clearly with your team members any important information they need to be aware of pertaining to each dog's health and well-being. With careful attention, you observe dog behavior and ensure the dogs are safe and healthy at all times. You are never bored and enjoy assisting with a variety of tasks in this fast-paced environment.

You get to enjoy all kinds of canine love, from giant, enthusiastic, slobbery love to dainty, reserved love. You freely dole out petting and affection to dogs of all breeds and temperaments. You love them all! You know them by name and learn each of their individual traits and needs. Your genuine respect for animals shines through in everything you do. You are a big part of the reason that our four-legged friends love to come to daycare!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PET CARE SPECIALIST

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a dog daycare or animal boarding facility
• Ability to complete Fetch Find comprehensive skills training upon hire
• Ability to complete Pet CPR and First Aid training within 6 months of hire
• Completion of Fear Free Certification within 12 months of hire
• Physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions
• Customer service skills
• A passion for animals

WORK SCHEDULE
This position at our boarding facility has a varied schedule of morning, afternoon, and evening 6-hour shifts. Social Pet is open 365 days a year, so a willingness to work weekends and holidays is part of the job.
