POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Security Engineer assists the team/company with information security operations and ongoing development of security systems infrastructure, applications, utilization, and user management. The IT Security Engineer troubleshoots network access issues and implements network security policies and procedures, ensuring security access and protecting against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Completes tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for systems utilized by the organization. Tracks and reports on security systems performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in a team environment addressing daily data security operations of the IT Department
  • Assist in troubleshooting systems, network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Setup, configure and install computer hardware operating systems and applications as well as any required network equipment
  • Assist with the management and organization of the prescribed networking environment for each Office and Call Center
  • Monitor all remote offices
  • Help employees in other locations remotely
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Establish a good working relationship with employees and other professionals, such as vendors and companies with which Freedom Forever conducts business
  • Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance upgrades
  • Proactive and assertive; self-starter, able to work using own initiative with minimal supervision managing numerous concurrent tasks
  • Willingness to participate in shared responsibility for weekend on-call rotation, as applicable
  • Provides 2nd & 3rd level technical support
  • Works within Active Directory environment to manage user administrative tasks as required
  • Troubleshoots and resolves IT systems issues
  • Installs, tests, and provisions technology systems
  • Works with the IT team to comply with Governances and Standards
  • Responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining IT systems, storage, end user applications, software, cloud, and other infrastructure components in line with customer requirements
  • Ability to work independently and with guidance as needed to meet deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer studies or equivalent work experience
  • Specialized certification in Security Management
  • CISSP, CCNA, Security+ preferred or equivalent specialty experience

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant Information Technology experience in a medium to large system installation
  • Experience within an IT support function in a fast-paced environment

Special Skills & Training:

  • Proficient with or working knowledge of other proprietary reporting and discovery tools
  • Excellent knowledge of how software usage supports business functions and processes
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Proven vendor relationship skills and experience
