Overview of the Position
This position directly interfaces with customers to understand and document their needs and works as part of a team to translate those business needs into technical solutions. Duties include support of enterprise applications such as AMANDA (for enterprise case management), AMANDA Portal (for citizen business transactions), and eDocs/Capture Center (for document and records management) through operational support, projects, troubleshooting, fulfilling enhancement requests, design, configuration, coding (PL/SQL, jquery, and some Angular), scripting and documentation.
In addition to the technical skills required for the job, the candidate should enjoy working as part of a team, learning unfamiliar technologies, be willing to share knowledge and learn from others, coordinate and lead meetings, effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, offer advice and recommendations on proposed solutions and provide ongoing support to ensure that key systems are kept up to date with the latest software versions and patches.
Standard business hours, however, position may require hours outside standard hours and on call as required.
The Position has the ability to work remotely but must be able to come to the office as needed. Candidates must reside in the State of Texas. Work Visas are not sponsored at this time.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working directly with customers configuring, coding and supporting commercial off-the-shelf IT systems with complex business rules using Agile methodologies and DevOps technologies.
- Experience with jquery, SOAP UI, Angular, web services, and configuration of web server applications.
- Experience with PL/SQL focused on creation of stored procedures and packages.
- Experience working with AMANDA, Liferay or Smart Guide.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, debug, modify and implement advanced custom software applications according to technical requirements and specifications for software solutions
2. Build, check, control, and create outputs and interfaces and integrate highly complex internal and external systems
3. Establish application development lifecycle and code development standards
4. Maintain and improve custom applications and interfaces
5. Document application training requirements
6. Write, maintain, and store documentation
7. Follow testing and validation policies, standards, processes, and procedures
8. Analyze business processes and requirements, use cases, wire frames, technical specifications and software/system functionality
9. Follow and/or assist with the development of custom test plans for software development, integration, upgrades, enhancements, fixes, and operations/maintenance
10. Design and recommend redesign of business function models
11. Serve as the point of contact for technical issues on projects, support and maintenance issues.
12. Participate in architecture planning and strategy sessions
13. Ensure security and data protection requirements are followed
