The department Sustainability and Participation at Fraunhofer UMSICHT is an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, designers and social researchers working at the intersection of science and society. As part of on-going projects, Fraunhofer UMSICHT will conduct a series of studies to further our ambitions towards responsible design and innovation. In this context, a special focus is to understand how the discipline of design can address our quest for innovations that are sustainable, responsible and equitable.

What you will do

• Assistance in the implementation of studies related to »Design for sustainable and responsible innovations«
• Comprehensive literature and desk research
• Preparation of reports and academic writings
• Conducting interviews, as well as its qualitative and quantitative evaluation

What you bring to the table

• Currently enrolled Bachelor's or Master's student in industrial design, social sciences or philosophy
• Knowledge of and interest in the following topics: Philosophy of Science/Technology; Industrial design
• Knowledge in qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as data analysis
• Good analytical skills and academic writing skills
• Hands-on mentality and high willingness to work independently and reliably
• Excellent English language skills

The weekly working time is 16 hours. The position is limited to 6 months.
