Analytics and Integrated Planning
The Analytics and Integrated Planning (AIP) division brings expertise in strategic data planning, advanced analysis, reporting, and institutional research to the university, with the explicit purpose of leveraging institutional data and enhancing analytics to enable robust decision-making across the institution.
The Opportunity:
The IR Analyst I will provide support to the Associate Director, Institutional Research by assisting with the data collection efforts for both internal and external consumers. Major roles will include routine editing of state files, collecting data for national external survey responses, providing support for the Faculty Activity Reporting System, and report development to support Academic Affairs and University entities. Other ad hoc reporting will be performed as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the generation and editing of various state-mandated reports and files regarding students, faculty, and staff to the Board of Governors' Information Resources Management (BOG-IRM) office.
  • Assist with the data collection and entry of official external survey responses which may include: US News and World Report, Peterson’s, CGS/GRE, NSF-NIH, CSRDE, and others.
  • Assist with the data preparation, release, and user support for the Faculty Activity System data collection tool each term.
  • Assist with the data collection and report development for Academic Affairs. This includes finding efficiencies for recurring data needs and responding to ad hoc inquiries.
  • Transform institutional data into relevant information for use in IKM internal and external reporting using a variety of software tools including SAS Enterprise Guide.
  • Contribute to the ongoing creation and maintenance of IKM business process documentation.
  • Other tasks as needed to support Institutional Knowledge Management and Analytics and Integrated Planning
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
  • Agile, versatile, flexible, and able to work with constantly changing/evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment.
  • Possess strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, and senior administration.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools to transform institutional data into relevant information for use by others.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and SAS or similar analytical software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge in developing and managing surveys, and collecting data.
