ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Monitoring the installers and installation process:

  • Establish an objective set of criteria on which to measure the quality of an installation and

develop metrics in which to measure each installer’s performance.


  • Develop an ongoing program of teaching events designed to assist in the training of installers as well as the replacement team

  • Maintain insurance and licensing documentation for all installers

  • Work with accounting to ensure that timeliness and accuracy of installers payout

  • Review all necessary installer back charges for correctness

  • Drive improvements with first time completion and periodically review with the installers

  • Meet with all installers periodically to determine system needs and installers needs

  • Assist in developing an annual system of installer recognition awards

  • Responsible for the implementation and fulfillment of the order verification process in a timely manner

  • Continued development of an installation disposition process

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all local and national building codes as they relate to window and door replacement

  • Must work with team to ensure that lead time objectives are met and manned accordingly

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, safety and environmental regulations

  • Will be required to track and report on installation performance metrics
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of a database of potential sub contractors

  • Recommends and participates in continuous improvement events and processes

  • Communicates new product information and operating procedures for new windows

  • Regularly networks, interviews, and evaluates qualified sub contracted installation crews.

Customer Relations:

  • Mediate customer installation concerns – visit jobsite to determine whether there is any problem with the installation
  • In cases where the installer is at fault – modify payout or have the installer repair faulty work
  • Work with replacement team to assure the satisfaction of the customer
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with customers, installers and staff in such a way as to increase communication
  • Work closely with service department to coordinate the service work and installation repairs
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the highest quality of work

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises all Installation Supervisors and indirectly the Installers (subcontracted crews). Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, rewarding and disciplining crews; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Must develop proficiency in Pella Order Management System (POMS) and Logistics Software. Must also develop working knowledge of PDQ, POETS, and Service System.


Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good public relations, public speaking, instructional/teaching, and customer service skills. Ability to read, interpret, understand and explain documents such as company policies and benefits. Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from employees, managers, co-workers, agents, customers, and the general public. Must be able to present training workshops to managers and employees. Must be able to listen, assess situations and make objective decisions. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette, and the ability to communicate in a pleasant and friendly manner.

Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be pro-active, have a good attitude, be self-disciplined, and self-motivated. Primary work location will be the designated at the time of hire. The employee will be required to enter the company's warehouse located at same address or other locations on a regular basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in Administrative office and moderate in the warehouse. This position will require frequent visits to customer jobsites and subcontractor warehouse locations.
