The Position:
The Information Security Architect secures enterprise information by determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing security systems and custom applications; preparing security standards, policies, and procedures; and mentoring team members. The incumbent is expected to have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products.

This position has the ability to be 100% remote with travel as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; research information security standards; conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; study architecture/platform; identify integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
  • Anticipate possible security threats and identify areas of weakness in the company’s security posture.
  • Determine and document information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements of new implementations whether on-premise, cloud, or SaaS/IaaS/PaaS environments.
  • Define and document how the implementation of a new system or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.
  • Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
  • Identify and document architectural and other security risks associated with the solution architecture, and mitigating controls where necessary.
  • Prepare system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.
  • Analyze disparate customer requirements and propose solutions to efficiently address them.
  • Help develop, initiate, maintain, and revise security standards and procedures to promote security within the enterprise and meet or exceed legal and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability.
  • Excellent understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security.
  • Experience in the security considerations of cloud computing.
  • Strong working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions.
  • Ability to anticipate compliance and technological developments and develop plans, policies and procedures to protect the best interest of Arch.
  • Excellent understanding of constituents’ requirements and communication with the ability to clearly and concisely present technical information to a varying degree of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with leading security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Knowledge of Networking, Virtualization, Storage and Cloud Technologies.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Windows, UNIX, programming (such as Java), API/web services, scripting and relational database management systems (such as MS SQL).
  • Strategic problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information security, related field or equivalent work experience

For individuals assigned or hired to work in Jersey City, New York City, and/ or Westchester County, the base salary range is $148,614 to $201,066 as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
