Job Summary/Basic Functions:

The Painter will prepare all surfaces and apply a wide variety of coatings to obtain high quality and decorative finishes using paint booth.

The Painter will report directly to the Team Lead and/or Production Supervisor. The shift hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

• 
  Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Wear Respirator
• Clean Shaven
• Maintain Paint Equipment (Paint Pots, Paint Guns, Paint Hooks, Paint Hoses)
• Cleanliness of Paint Booths
• Paint Inventory
• Clean and prep surfaces using processes such as sanding, scraping and grinding.
• Use of spray equipment to apply required material.
• Experience with electrostatics.
• Application of a protective coating to a variety of metal material surfaces.
• Monitor extractors, drying fans and heaters.
• Board and mask material.
• Ensure all paint related waste is properly labelled, stored and disposed of.
• Maintain paint booth and associated equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
• Ensure job meets all requirements before leaving the work cell.
• Meet or exceed established production levels.
• Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

Additional Responsibilities

• Must be able to do basic computer tasks.
• Alert Supervisor of incidents of poor quality or any other non-conformity.
• Must perform to established production rates.
• Daily flip chart participation.
• Keep work area neat and organized.
• Is responsible for handling of necessary paperwork.
• Is required to watch all product coming through their area to ensure the quality of the product.
• Perform various duties as required by supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in spray painting in an industrial paint booth environment.
• Must have paint experience.
• Must have the ability to use small hand and power tools.
• Experience with overhead cranes.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Manual dexterity and strength/stamina to perform required tasks.
• Must possess the ability to do proper computer functions.
