Industrial Mechanic / Maintenance Technician - up to $30 per hour
Unitex is currently seeking an Industrial Mechanic / Maintenance Technician for our location in Mt. Vernon, NY. We currently have 1st and 2nd shifts available. Schedule to be discussed at time of interview.
Compensation:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot production equipment hardware & software (includes PLC & Computer based systems)
- Perform integration and assembly of capital equipment in support of manufacturing capacity.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Equipment programming and setup for manufacturing to ensure product specifications are met.
- Systematic analysis of production processes for productivity enhancements. Follows through on implementation of improved tooling and training of personnel.
- Assists in creating, modifying, and revising manufacturing work instructions and process flow documentation.
- PLC programming and making changes or transfers; troubleshooting Continuous Manufacturing processes.
- Will assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain electro-mechanical production systems, both manual and automated based on PLC. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Skills/Requirements:
- Experience as PLC Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment
- Strong electro-mechanical skills, to include the reading and interpretation of schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills.
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in fast pace, dynamic environment, with limited supervision: self-starter.
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Working knowledge of Lean basic concepts.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
