Job Title: Industrial Designer

Location: 6515 Hopkins Road, Mentor, OH, USA, 44060

Duration: 3 months

Hours/Shift: Shift/Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5 onsite

Pay Rate: $21.00 – $35.00. (Without Benefits)

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs drafting duties and project assignments based on instructions and guidance from supervisor, engineers or sr. designers.
• Design, develop and document the manufacturing construction documentation for mechanical or electrical components and subassemblies to meet company, team and group goals.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and service engineers to create production-ready component and product designs and drawings using 2D and 3D applications (AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer) in accordance with applicable STERIS procedures and guidelines. Proficiency with Pro/Engineer Sheet Metal application and familiarity with 3D surfacing techniques is desired.
• Use of technical engineering design/drafting technology principles to document design solutions for medical devices. Uses 2D and 3D cad software.

1. Prepares complete and accurate layouts: critical tolerance areas, component requirements and placement, material selection and manufacturability in support of current products, new designs, methods, materials, or process studies
2. Creates accurate and complete drawings in regards to views, dimensioning, and conformance to company engineering specifications and drafting standards; assists in the final drafting checking function and aids in securing all necessary approvals for all drawings produced.
3. Creates CAD models and assists with developing design layouts and drawings for a variety of components, sub-assemblies, processes, or equipment in support of projects.
4. Interacts with vendors, suppliers, and consultants, on a limited basis, to assure compliance with requirements and specifications.
5. Works as a collaborative team member in engineering projects.
6. Contributes to some ideas and concepts of designs.

Experience:

• Graphic design: 1 year (Preferred)
• Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)
• Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
