Job Summary

Sentinel Management Company is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a HR & Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will split your time between HR Specialist functions (estimated 50% of core duties) and office administrative & bookkeeping duties as specified below (50% of core duties)

Core Human Resources Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administering Company HR benefits
  • Processing bi-weekly payroll
  • Confidentially managing employee questions and concerns about their employment
  • Managing the job posting process, including working with appropriate managers to develop relevant job descriptions.
  • Managing the screening, interview, and onboarding process for new hires.
  • Managing and ensuring that the employee discipline process is documented and consistent with Company policy and the law
  • Managing the offboarding process, including the performance of exit interviews.
  • Managing the employee review process, including the development and follow-up of SMART goals for each employee.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all Company HR policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintaining industry, market, and legal knowledge of HR policies in order to assess existing policies for compliance and to assist senior leadership with the development of new HR policies whenever necessary.
  • Leading the development and maintenance of the Company’s professional image on social media and other platforms to attract and retain a strong workforce.
  • Building strong relationships with all staff members.

Core Administrative Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Accounts Payable department with the generation and processing of Purchase Orders and Invoices in the Avid AP system.
  • Assisting the Accounts Receivables department with processing reports, generating lease documents, sending lease renewal offers, generating ledger charges, processing receipts of funds, and other administrative tasks in Appfolio Property Management software.
  • Completing word processing for letters, memos, reports, labels, and other documents with precision.
  • Assisting in maintaining and organizing physical and electronic office files with precision and confidentiality, including uploading required information into Appfolio and the corporate electronic shared drive system (Google Drive)

Required Qualifications

  • College degree in Human Resources-related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in human resources position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and clerical or bookkeeping skills. Ability to process documents with precision.
  • Strong familiarity with accounting principles and general ledger preferred
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multitask
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Appfolio Property Management software, and Avid Accounts Payable software preferred
  • Able to type at least 40 words per minute
  • Professional image and polished phone and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle employee personnel issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and tact
  • Self-motivated, independent worker, proactive about troubleshooting and solving problems
  • Skilled in reading, interpreting, and applying information, along with following written instructions and processes carefully.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
