We are seeking an HR Generalist that will support our North & South Carolina business locations. This position will be responsible for all Human Resources and People Operations for assigned locations including assisting in the hiring, training, performance management, ensuring all company policies, safety standards, and procedures related to employees and operations are being followed.

What you will do:

• Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems, provide leadership, guidance and counsel on employee matters
• Process weekly payroll for assigned locations, back-up for other locations with payroll processing when needed
• Build positive relationships with operations and business partners, be a credible coach and confidante to leadership teams as well as a strong employee advocate
• Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
• Be actively involved in recruitment and interview process by preparing job descriptions, post ads, sourcing and screening applications, meeting with Hiring Managers. Responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
• Responsible for accident reporting with auto and worker's compensation, ensuring accurate and complete paperwork and supporting documentation needed to process claim, and follow-up care with employee as needed
• Provide updates and follow-up regarding performance management process, ensuring evaluations are being completed in a timely manner and with employees
• Assist employees and leadership by answering employee requests and questions.
• Implement and support company-wide training and development programs utilizing LMS
• Completes OnBoarding and Orientation process for all New Hires in assigned locations.
• Reconciles benefits statements.

What we are seeking:

• Experience in Human Resources, preferably in the trades, but not required
• Ability to advise the leadership team on how to appropriately navigate personnel issues
• Strong organizational skills, people skills, decision making skills and strategic planning skills
• Experience processing payroll is preferred, or experience with Paychex Flex
• Understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues, establish priorities, and lead to achieve desired objectives
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
