El Dorado is located amidst the scenic timberland's region of south Arkansas. There are many small towns located near there, but it is also close to Little Rock, AR, Shreveport, LA, and less than a day's drive from New Orleans.
We have an immediate opening for an HR Generalist at our El Dorado, AR site. This position is accountable for leading several key HR activities and will be an active team member driving a culture of growth, performance, and positive employee relations. Apply human resources management principles to successfully contribute to plant priorities
Help drive safety results
Lead and manage HR initiatives including those around policies, employee development, internship, and performance management
Serve as a consultant to employee relation matters
Assist with the development and conduct training and development programs to enhance employees skills, performance, and work environment
Manage hourly recruitment and selection and ensure onboarding, training, and development are successfully executed.
Effectively manage labor at the plant and understand how to flex resources as required.
Effectively communicate with all employees, supervisors, and managers
Ensure efficient payroll and administration processes
Administer and explain benefits to employees and lead site annual Open Enrollment
Provide support and resources to assist in achieving business objectives
Recommend, develop, and maintain human resource databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area of study
5+ years of plant HR experience in a union environment preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven experience leading change
Background and familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom, ADP, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams and drive people engagement and development
In-dept understanding of employment law (i.e. FLSA, FMLA, etc.)
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions, and solve problems independently.
