Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for an
HR Administrative Assistant (Temp) opportunity for our customer in
Carlsbad, NM to support the
Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).
Temporary position, 5-month duration.
Work Location is on-site at WIPP.
Work Schedule: 6am to 4pm, Monday - Thursday (4/10 schedule)
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
Position Description:
The successful candidate will perform duties with a primary emphasis in HR Operations and Labor Relations. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to manage a large number of concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment. Coordinate and communicate with multiple managers at all levels of the company. Discretion and confidentiality are essential to the work. Must be able to share "need to know" information timely, provide support, and create reports, minutes and note-taking with ease. Individual must present patience, a high level of professionalism and great listening skills.

Other duties include:
- The successful candidate will maintain files, records, and documentation (including sensitive and proprietary information/data). Must maintain confidentiality of information.
- Create or generate special or routine Human Resources reports.
- Perform duties such as travel arrangements, expense reports, correspondence, accountability, tracking and scheduling.
- Candidate will act as Records Coordinator and Property Administrator for the department.
- Evaluate information, data, input, and similar items for completeness, accuracy, and suitability to assure agreement with standards and procedures.
- Take appropriate corrective action as necessary.
- Establish priorities and schedules to accomplish routine and special tasks.
- Answer and initiate appropriate action in response to routine requests within HR not requiring management attention.
- Preparation of various administrative elements for other employees within department and assure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain knowledge of computer systems, databases, on-line interfaces, networks, operational standards and reporting processes.
- Frequent interface with employees from all departments. including senior management.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced diverse environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years clerical/administrative.
