PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Santa Barbara Team as the Housing Specialist at the Santa Barbara Location.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
PATH Santa Barbara is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is dedicated to assisting homeless individuals achieve greater health, wellness, and self-sufficiency, by helping as many as possible access the services they need to improve their health, find employment and transition to stable housing. PATH'sPermanent Supportive Housing (PSH) programin the regionis a scattered-site housing program for chronically homeless and vulnerable adults. This is a housing first programwhichprovides permanent housing and supportive services to help people stay housed.

WHAT IS A HOUSING SPECIALIST?
As part of the Santa Barbara Team, the Housing Specialist works to develop a full range of permanent housing opportunities for people experiencing homelessnessand supports program participants with obtaining permanent housing in collaboration with other program staff. Position Responsibilities include:
Housing Services
- Cultivate and maintain robust lists of available housing inventory.
- Create property and landlord portfolios in alignment with the standards of PATH's Housing Partnerships Program.
- Monitor and evaluate housing processes with the landlord community to ensure efficient and well-coordinated collaboration, working with various housing program teams.
- Provide strong customer service response support to landlords, as needed, for any concerns that may arise.
- Generate reports regarding housing services as required or requested: Prepare case-related reports including outcomes, successes, and challenges. Produce regular reports about housing portfolio and placement outcomes in order to inform housing acquisition strategies and program operations.
- Actively participatein staff meetings and trainings.

- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and build successful relationships with a full range of individuals and entities, including landlords, property management companies, other staff, program participants, and community partners.
- Ability to maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA and all other applicable policies and standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with property management and real estate functions.
- Strong working knowledge of Fair Housing Laws.
- Knowledge of and/or experience within relevant fields including, but not limited to: Permanent Supportive Housing, Housing Markets, City Planning and/or Public Policy
- Experience with Salesforce CRM.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of experience working in social services, with populations in crisis, property management, and/or real estate practice.
- Proficiency with computers and technologies used for work outputs including:Microsoft Office Software, including strong skills with Excel-Database Systems such as CRM.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:
- Have employment eligibility verification
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
- Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
- Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
- Tuberculosis Test
- Background Screening
- Drug Test
DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:
- Have reliable transportation
- A valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
- The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage
COVID-19 VACCINATION
Effective 11/01/2021 PATH will require all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All prospective hires will be expected to provide proof of full vaccination as part of the pre-employment credentialing process.

PATH is a California employer. Therefore, all regular and customary work must be performed within the state. Approval for work outside of the office, does not establish approval for work to be conducted outside of California.
