AMFM Healthcare is looking for a House Supervisor to provide superior care for our clients at our Adult Residential Mental Health facilities in Fairfax County, Virginia. Position Summary:

The House Supervisor is the first point of contact for all Client Coordinators and their primary responsibility is to ensure the continued smooth operation of the constituent parts of the program as it relates to house operations, program policies and procedures, client control and supervision, as well as accounting for the proper training of staff in regards to their duties at the residences and other applicable sites.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1+ years of experience in direct care position or other human related field.

  • Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through DBHDS, Background Investigation Unit, and VDSS Registry Searches, in addition to passing the ADP Selective Screening Services background check or any other state, federal or company required background/record check.

  • Willing to work three shifts for 24-hour coverage as needed.

  • Possess valid driver’s license

  • CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Current T.B. clearance

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 lbs.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The House Supervisor will be responsible for all the following, and additional duties may be removed or assigned as needed. These include but are limited to:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Clients and Staff members by providing appropriate supervision of staff while on shift. Methods of supervision include utilizing communication platforms such as Gchat for staff, and VisibleHand tracking systems for clients.
  • Staying up to date with all Program Guidelines and it’s functioning parts. This information must also be disseminated to all support staff.
  • Ensure that all personnel are properly trained and up to company standards of excellence. Responsible for adequately training all New Hires to work efficiently and safely in all facilities. Hold all staff accountable, according to the company standards.
  • Train all new support staff that fall under supervisor’s management to ensure proper training.
  • Liaison for support staff to the management team when necessary. Contact management team regarding improvements in the facilities as well as staff members that need improvements.
  • Build a healthy rapport with all clients and support staff. Communicate with management any concerns from clients and or support staff.
  • Be a multitalented utility player in the residences, assisting in various matters effectively including but not limited to:
    • Help facilitate weekend activities
    • Facilitate or delegate tasks of acquiring client requests or needs
    • Assists with New Client Intakes when needed
    • Provide retraining or refresher courses when needed
    • Safely transport Clients to and/or from approved destinations
    • Ability to work any house for any shift if necessary.
    • Being responsive at all times while on shift to manager questions as well as questions from those under supervision.
  • Be able to assist all operations with various tasks, ensuring that all clients are medication compliant and that staff are following all appropriate and applicable medication self-administration and chain of command protocols.
  • Create a safe space or environment for both clients and staff, respecting all client and visitor rights, relaying concerns to applicable parties as needed.
  • Be able to assess any given situation and respond appropriately. De-escalate any situation if possible, should the need arise. Oversee any late-night admits to ensure proper protocols are followed.
